Electronics designers must consider power management for mobile consumer products like laptops and palmtops. Power efficiency has emerged as a key issue in evaluating a product's success in response to the rising demand for mobile devices. Power management strategies are used to keep portable gadgets running at peak efficiency for longer periods. Dynamic voltage and frequency scaling, sleep modes, power gating, and adaptive power management are only some of the power management approaches covered in this work. The paper examines emerging tendencies in power management for portable consumer electronics and highlights the difficulties inherent in building energy-efficient portable gadgets.
